I emailed some questions to him as I want to be armed with information to formulate an accurate response and to ensure this has been done correctly. First: I own shares in my company (publicly traded) and he has tabula...

I will ask this question a different way. I relinquished my US citizenship in December of 2012... I have to fill out a 1040 and 1040NR. I understand that I attach my 8891 and 8938 forms to the 1040, but for the 1040NR do I also have to attach the same forms? If so are they just duplicates of the one...

1040nr Additional forms
I am filing a 1040 from Jan 01 2012 to December 12th 2012, and then a 1040NR for the remainder of the year (to December 31, 2012). With regards to the 8938 and 8891 obligations, would I file an 8938 from Jan 01 to December 12th, and than an additional 8938 on the 1040NR for the remaining days of tha...

Directly from the IRS website; Foreign real estate is not a specified foreign financial asset required to be reported on Form 8938. For example, a personal residence or a rental property does not have to be reported. If the real estate is held through a foreign entity, such as a corporation, partner...

I am unaware of my reluctance to do minimal extra steps, other than form 8833, which, after reviewing it seems pretty straight forward. I think if you look at my previous post, I was questioning the reasoning behind it for my own peace of mind. Another issue is that I want to be well informed on thi...
