Can a Canadian resident deduct employment expenses on the T1 for a temporary job in the US with a US employer. Or can it only be for a CDN employer who can complete T2200 (Declaration for Employment Conditions)

TN Visa and housing
If I work for a US company under a TN Visa, can the company provide me tax free housing for Visa sponsorship if I also declare non residency in Canada? Or is it only available if I am still a resident of Canada for tax purposes.
