I am focusing on company paid housing (or an allowance based on a per diem). Since it is reimbursed, you cannot claim the expenses. You are nor necessarily taxable in CA on the income, but it is included as an adjustment to Federal amounts on the 540NR to determine the ratio for the deductions CA allows. It was my understanding that the CRA takes the stance that the 10% penalty for an early withdraw from your IRA is not an "income and profits tax and not eligible for the foreign tax credit.
