Re: US government stimulus check
Hey guys, I just read that the IRS is currently not accepting paper returns for 1040-NR (see below). If that's the case, is there anything that can be submitted via an e-file? I assume that all 1040-NR have to be submitted via physically mailing in the return based on filing in the US in the past (f...

Re: Question about ITIN for dependents - need help please..
I found the information below on the following site (https://www.barrisassociates.com/blog/do-you-need-to-renew-your-itin/43396). So it looks as though I can still file my 2019 1040_NR using my son's expired ITIN number but they will hold off on any credit's (I assume including for the Michigan retu...

Good afternoon one and all. I posted the information below on another thread and got no reply so I decided to start another thread specifically about my situation (I have spent the last several days searching the internet and I have not gotten any clear direction how I should approach my situation)....

Re: Standard deduction , TN, first time
Question about ITIN - when I did my 1040NR, I found no deductions on the federal side but got a bigger return via my state return (Michigan). Did I make a mistake or is this the case (claiming dependents will increase your state refund)? If so, I have another question. Both my adult children (one is...

Re: Tax Treatment of US Healthcare Savings Accounts (HSA)
Good evening Nelsona. I paid into an HSA for 2019 but it does not appear on my W2 in any of the boxes. Can I simply print out from the company I work for the amount I paid into the HSA for 2019 or will I need a tax document for filing purposes? Thanks in advance for any information from anyone in th...

Re: US government stimulus check
Good afternoon one and all. Came across this forum after doing a number of searches while getting information to file both my US and Canadian tax return for 2019 and I am extremely happy to have found it since it's been very helpful answering many of my Google questions. I just noticed this thread a...
