There is no specific amount of income required in your case, unless you are moving to Quebec. You do have to show you can manage financially.

Also, if you are not on Social assisstance at present, that is not a barrier.

The child will need a vissitor visa to go to Canada with the parents. Then they will need to sponsor the child for permanent residence, which they can only do once they are in Canada.

Hazel, there is no specific period of time for which you have to be out of Canada. You need to keep in mind only that when you come back you must be entering for a temporary purpose, and therefore you should be prepared to leave again if you have to.
