I am moving to the US permanently.

All my US employment is US income. i pay all payroll taxes to US and deduct them on my Canadian returns

you only choose what you want to see. you looked at para 1 but not para 2 which overrides para 1. I believe you are afraid that you will loose your good credit on this forum

This is why the treaty comes into the picture to avoid partial W-2 and T-4. Whovever bears the employment expenses/income has the right over employment taxes.

Based on your post, every employer who allows their employee to work even one day from Canada, they need to run a payroll in Canada

even if I have stayed less than 183 days in Canada, I would be a canadian resident as my family is here.

According to nelsona, since you are more than 183 days working from Canada last year, your US company should run canadian payroll
