Re: Canadian on TN Visa, pandemic, remote work
HR lady is not making sense. We are in a pandemic. People who can work remotely are urged to do so. If your husband is required to be on site for work reason then it makes sense. Re: Canadian on TN Visa, pandemic, remote work
I am in a similar situation. There is no issue working remotely as long as you are doing the work and getting paid for it. If you're "on bench" and not getting the salary mentioned in the employment letter then you may get into trouble when crossing the border.

Re: Someone please help me RRSP room calculation regarding to 401 (k) deduction
@lipeter1:
Line 207 should only include your contribution to 401K and not the total which includes employer contribution. The tax software is doing what the CRA agent has said in this regard (i.e., this amount is used in the deduction but doesn't reduce the contribution room). My guess is this ...

Here is a response from Allan Madan (CPA, CA):
"Since there are still assets remaining in Class 50, the Class cannot be closed and a terminal loss cannot be claimed. Continue to claim CCA as normal on Class 50 assets, even though you got rid of one computer for $0 proceeds.

Computer-1: UCC at start of year = $800
Computer-2: UCC at start of year = $200
Computer-2 is damaged and I have junked it. No compensation was received for it (i.e., no insurance claim etc.).
