Filed taxes wrong...many years ago
Canadian citizen in the US on J-1 visa in past, filed US and CAN tax returns separately for three years but did not know I had to put US income in CAN return and do a foreign tax credit (if that is the correct procedure?). Undeclared Interest Income
Canadian resident with a US savings account.
Ignorantly have not declared interest income from account for ten years...have 1099-Int forms for last five (lost the others).
How far back to adjust returns? What are consequences? Declaring would not change tax owed in most years.
