Re: Revenue Canada Review Help

I ended up giving them 52 copies of my paystubs, bank statements show the deposits and a copy of the checks I wrote for the small amount I ended up owing. They accepted it and the deduction was allowed

Re: Canadian resident 401k contributions to Rollover IRA to RRSP

Thank you very much for the info. I feel confident in proceeding. My understanding is: - Make disbursement from the IRA, pay USA taxes - Deposit the disbursement into my RRSP plus additional funds to top up to the pre-USA tax amount - Claim this as foreign income and claim FTC for amount paid to USA...

Canadian resident 401k contributions to Rollover IRA to RRSP

I had a 401k which I made contributions to while a Canadian resident. There was no employer matching. I'm no longer working for that company and have rolled the 401k into an IRA. I'd like to transfer this IRA into my RRSP. I have enough Canadian income to offset the taxes paid to the USA with the FT...

Canada -> USA commuter 2021

I'm Canadian on TN commuting to the USA daily. Since the border closure I've been working remotely from Canada. I understand that I now need to claim back all the taxes I paid via my employers withholds while performing my job from Canada and I'll owe that to CRA. My question is about going forward ...

Re: Credit for Other Dependents

Thank you for the reply!

Just to clarify a detail.

Would I only claim this credit on the 1040NR and NOT both (1040NR AND 1040 pro forma)?

Credit for Other Dependents

IRS states to qualify for the Credit for Other Dependents the dependent must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. resident alien.

If a Cnd citizen + Cnd resident chooses to file a XXV 1040, as a resident for tax purposes. Can they use this credit?

Living in Canada working remotely for US company

I've been living in Canada and crossing the border everyday to work for this company for about 17 years as an employee (W2). Their Canadian arm recently opened an office on Canadian side (Windsor) and I've taken one of the offices there and have been working remotely. Would this have any effect on h...
