RRSP Contributions/withdrawals

So just to be clear on this, I include my RRSP contributions in my income in 1040 and taxed on it. Then when I withdraw $$ at retirement, or before if in a jam, I have to include that again on 1040? So I get taxed twice on the whole amount, not just the interest?

Oh believe me, I do like the info found on this forum. I learned more about US taxes here than any reading of Pubs for over 10 years. What I was refering to to is that the 'RBC people' told me they never heard of TFSA being considered as foreign trusts by the IRS and I could not show them anything f...

Must both spouses claim 2555

We are married filing jointly. We both have been in Canada for many years. We both have been claiming 2555 on returns.

Now I want to revoke my spouse's FEIE in order to get the child tax credit. Can we do? I will still claim 2555 but not her. All income is CDN.

Thanks, However, after several communications with RBC Direct Investing, they assured me that the TFSA I hold with them is not a trust. Therefore they do not emit a 3520/3520A. They said it would come from them if it was a trust. The only reference I found regarding the IRS considering TFSA's foreig...
