Will this be true if I live in Canada as well?
I'm an only child so I have no worries about will complications.

best options for purchasing property in canada for parent
I'm helping a parent purchase property in BC. I am a Canadian citizen and US permanent resident. I am providing 75% as down, she is getting a mortgage for the remaining 25%. Our broker said that I will have to be on the mortgage too if I want to be on the title. (That's mostly fine--I'm hoping it do...

canadian mortgage, us perm resident
Hello, Need some tax advice. I'm a US permanent resident and Canadian citizen. I filed my CRA exit return a couple years ago and file with the IRS as a tax resident. I'd like to help my mother buy a condo in Canada. I see I have a couple options... 1. gift her a bunch of money for a down payment and...

W-9 form as nonresident alien for new bank account
I moved to the US in September on a TN visa. I haven't met the substantial presence test yet so I am a non-resident alien. Recently I opened an online savings account with Ally Bank and they sent me a W9 SSN identification number certification card to fill out. It clearly says "not applicable f...

TN visa timing
How long in advance of your start date is it acceptable to enter the US on a TN visa? My start date is late September but I'd like to go in early September. Is this a problem?
Thanks

deemed non-resident with TN visa - 183 days?
I'm moving to the US in September with a TN visa. I want to be considered a deemed non-resident for tax purposes so I file an exit return for 2012 in Canada and a resident return in the US. Do I need to meet the 183-day requirement for this? I haven't calculated it to the day, but it should be close...

RRSPs and non-residency
I'm about to move to the US (Washington state) for a few years (TN visa) and I have a few questions about handling matters. To avoid crazy taxes, I want to make sure the CRA deems me a non-resident (to be honest, I'm a bit confused between the difference of a deemed non-resident under the US/Canada ...
