Thanks Nelsona

Truly appreciate your thoughts and advice. One clarification however please; I thought we only get the credit for all the contributions we make for Fed and State taxes on USA income but somehow not for the deductions made towards FICA? Does this mean every cent paid in the USA (401k contribution not...

QU on traveling to the US for an interview

Hello all, I have never gone to the States just for an interview since all my contracts (todate) have been confirmed without a face-to-face meeting. This time though, I am being asked to fly down to meet the employer before they finalize the agreement. I am wondering if there will be any issues with...

Having a masters degree (Canadian) and over 10 yrs professional IT experience, I was able to get the potential US employer to agree to begin the process...

Thanks very much Mark. I appreciate the info. One thing becomes clearer to me; it is better to be on a corp to corp unless the obvious trade off is getting a perm role in which case the move to US is going to be for GC and therefore a more permanent one. TAX WITHHOLDING ON W-2

Hello All,

I have an opportunity to work on W2 in the US. I have always worked corp to corp before. I am wondering if someone could tell me the avg % of total income that is withheld when someone works on w2.

Thanks,
Stu

I am wondering if some one can suggest a web site that might have information on this topic that I raised earlier. I am sorry if I posted this message in a wrong forum.
