Green card holder but living in no state of the US
I have a bank account and an address in the US, but I pay no US rent, earn no US income etc. I consider myself a factual resident of Canada. Can I just submit a Federal IRS tax form ? nothing to any state ? Can I submit a 1040 (resident version) using my Canadian address ?

I wish I could help you on this. Another poster suggested if you use mark-to-market, all you need do is look at your Year End Statement, and put the book value in 5b... but if you result with a loss and this is your first year filing - does that loss count against any other income ?
