Any new TN application process developments?
Hello, I'm living in NYC on my fourth TN (Systems Analyst) and I'm going to apply for my fifth later this month at Pearson in Toronto. Does anyone know of any new developments in the application process over the past year? Do the INS look for any new forms of documentation, has the process gotten mo...

Thanks Nelson. Actually the ONLY thing I am interested in is being able to maintain and CONTINUE to invest in my mutual fund portfolio in my Cdn brokerage while I'm in the States. Benefits and paying the tax aren't an issue to me. You may think I should just invest my $ in the States but I have reas...

How to still be a Cdn resident while living in States?
Hello,
I moved to the States recently and spend 99% of my time in the States. Do I have the option whether I want to become a Cdn non resident or does the fact that I am in the States 99% of the time automatically make me a Cdn non-res?
Thanks

Contribute to RRSP after declaring non-res?
If I declare myself a Cdn non-res for tax purposes on 12/01/04 for example, can I do an RRSP contrib for 2005?
Of course, I wouldn't be doing a 2005 tax return but I would still benefit by having the income from those investments protected from tax.
Thanks

How does Cdn non-res pay tax on fund income?
I would like to become a Cdn resident for tax-purposes and at the same time keep my Cdn brokerage account intact with my Cdn mutual funds in it. Now I know that some countries, such as the USA, frown on you keeping ownership of your Cdn funds. That being said, if I do this, how would I pay my Cdn ta...
