through a vocational rehabilitation program i attended liberty university full-time (on line) and tuition and books were paid directly to the institution. i know that canada allows a deduction for the time of study in this case Jan-Aug; is there a beneficial deduction on form 1040?

canadian permanent resident in us filing 1040 with canadiane

I am a permanent resident retired from the canadian military living in oklahoma. I will receive a T4NR and tax has been withheld at source (in Ottawa). I also receive a VA disability that is not taxed at all. What line on 1040 do I include world income and is the T4NR equivalent to W2 in this case?
