My husband works in Detroit and commutes daily to WIndsor, ON. In past years we have filed 1040 NR. I was wondering how the treaty affects his taxes.

We are cdn citizens but there is a schedule D line on the 1040 NR. And they did deduct fed taxes off on the 1099-B.

My husband received a 1099-b form and I do not know how to deal with it. I know I have to fill a schedule D form but the 1099-b has not info about the number of shares sold, what the cost basis is, when the shares were bought and sold and that sort of thing. FICA = medicare tax and social security tax?

So what I would do is add up all the taxes, (federal+state+city+medicare tax+social security tax) - any refunds I calculate in the 1040 NR, state and city forms. Right?

I have a few questions regarding my taxes this year. My husband works in the States and lives in Canada (citizen). He works on a TN visa.
