Thanks Nelson. Always appreciate your help here and this whole forum.
I had completed the US portion already, and on 8891 I have clicked the 6a box Yes so never filled out the distributions portion before.
It was after I had entered my US and selected to add CA state that the CA interview asked me ...

I've been using US TurboTax with CA state for several years, and this is the first year I recall seeing the request to enter Canadian RRSP info. I am CA Non-Resident but file a CA return because of a rental (my former primary residence in CA).
Is this requirement to provide the RRSP int/dividend ...

1116 Questions.
I think part of my confusion is what is the word "TAX" that you refer to in other thread regarding order of filing.
#1 So after 1st pass, what value for TAX do you use in the other country's tax credits? (I assume for US return you use amount from Canada's line 435 (total tax payable) on first pass ...

Treatment of US K-1
I did a search through the forum for K-1 and K1 but found nothing.
My US parents set up a K-1 partnership for estate planning, which includes securities, and the family lake place.
On the K-1 I receive, there is Interest and Dividends, and occasionally capital gain/loss if we sell any securities ...

I THINK I have it right. I entered all my information on the T776, and then under the Foreign income and property setup of UFILE there was a section to add Foreign Rental. I then inputted the Net Foreign Business Income or Loss and Foreign Business Income reported as Business income as my net rental ...

Claiming Canada credit for tax paid to US/Cal on Cal rental
Dual citizen, living in Canada whole year.
Rental of house in Calif results in $200 tax to Calif (and this is the ONLY income as far as California is concerned since I'm non-resident entire year), and lets say $600 to US.
Can I use the $800 tax owed in US/Calif against my Canadian return, and if ...

After 1st pass, what value for tax paid do you use in the other country's tax credits? I assume for US return you use tax amount from Canada's line 428, and for Canada return you use tax computed on 1040's line 46.
