Canadian plan to move back to Canada after years working on TN

I am a Canadian and I have worked in US since 2007 on TN. I plan to move back to Canada for retirement in 1~2 years. I have 401 (k), HSA and stock broker accounts. what I need to do with my 401(k) and HSA account before I leave US? Thank you very much for your help!!

I sold my house on 11/27/2008 and had some gain. Do I need to report the gain on our jointly US 2008 tax return? Because my wife and I file joint return for 2008, even though she ie nonresidence for 2008.

Sorry, there is an error in last message. should be "we need to make statement and sign that we agree NOT to claim any treat benefit." if we select to file jointly

But, publ 519 says if we select to file jointly return. we need to make statement and sign that we agree to claim any treat benefit. this why I want to make sure whether I can check the reason is for treaty benefit on w-7, since we file jointly return, given my wife ' non-residence status.

owh, it is too bad if it is considered as 2008 income. I need to pay higher tax on HBP. Can I still file my cnd tax as residence, not file departure return for 2008? and file my us tax as nonresidence?
