I just got my 5th TN at the airport in august, and my passport is recently renewed. how is the border crossing lately? I know some border guards get a bit protective of american jobs. Wouldn't wa...

Ah, K. Here's hoping I don't need to worry about getting a visitor visa. Waiting on the legal offices for updated letter and off I go, thanks for the info. Perhaps if they are having trouble with ties to canada, my husband can stay in canada while I close out everything down here. We'll have to cros...

As far as canadian ties.. Both our families are in canada, we still have savings and investments in canada. Would that be enough? What else should I do to help that not be a problem? I would only want to be able to close accounts and pack up and I certainly wouldn't break the immigration law for my ...

I got more information. For some reason (according to my companies legal office) my online application went to california, but the documentation was requested to go to nebraska (which it was sent). My office received a letter saying the application was received, (no request for documentation), then ...

TN I-129 extension Denied
They said they didn't receive the paper work (or didn't receive it in time) and due to that my petition is denied. I now have till Aug 21 to leave (according to the letter). 1. Is there anything I can do to appeal? I looked on USCIS site and it didn't look like it, but I wanted to make sure (I did s...

online business
I haven't found much information on this subject. My hunch is that if you site generates revenue through advertising to help pay for hosting/bandwidth use (despite being a fun hobby site) that it is considered "work income" and on a TN visa living in the US that wouldn't qualify as legal. ...

Expired TD - waiting for extension review
I did the online extension for my TN and my husband's TD. A situation has come up where my husband needs to go back to canada for a few days. Now that his TD is expired, I am not sure what our options are. We do have the extension notice that our application has been filed over a month and a half ag...

Lawyer referral request - H1B/Green Card assistance
Unfortunately my work isn't going to pay for the legal fees for the applications. I am pretty good at reading through the mounds of forms and such that are required (including the appendices, but there are always a few questions that are confusing to me. Can anyone recommend someone that can give me...

Thanks for the info. I will definitely make sure I do that from now on.
One other question. He didn't fill everything out on the I-94 form. I'd like to visit my family for the new year, but I am really nervous that with an incomplete form (although stamped) may pose real issues.
Am I being paranoid?

Recent TN issue when coming back from vacation in aruba
Hey all. I had a very werid experience on the way back from aruba. The US border guy at the airport basically tore out our TN/TD visas and said we would have to get new paperwork. I told him that I had always been told that those papers were to be kept until I go back to canada or get reissued a new...

That part of the application has mainly to do with your employers ability to hire a foreigner for a full time permanent position. There are a few steps they have to go through before the I-140 can even be started. Mainly to do with ensuring there are no americans that can fill the job. check out the...

Shifting from TN to H1B
Hello, I am starting the process of going for my greencard with my current employer and while I know it is possible to go from TN-GC there are so man variables that I am not crazy about. The lack of ability to leave the country for months at a time being one. And the constant threat of the TN going ...
