dual national living in Canada. Is all U.S. sourced interest treated like Bank interest and re-sourced to Canada? Interest reported on a 1099 received from a registered Canadian securities company? Interest received from holding a mortgage in the USA? Thanks

Now that non-resident tax is no longer withheld, will US residents with Canadian bank accounts have to file a Canadian tax return to report this income to Canada. I also have rental income and pension income from Canada.

I received a T5 from a bank in Canada. Must I complete a T1 tax return to report this T5? I have been a tax resident of the USA since 2001. My other reporting slips from Canada were all "NR4" with 10 or 15% tax deducted for Canada. How do I pay Canada the 10% owed on this bank interest.? T...
