I want to visit Windsor in October for one week. I am currently in the US on a TN visa for the last 18 months.

What documents do i need to carry with me to re- enter the US ? Do i need to carry the original support letter if i am flying from Toronto?

I have to sell my investments do pay a security deposit.

I was told, that i need to file taxes to pays for the sale of investments. Is this true?

Do i have to pay departure tax every time i leave Canada?

For examplenif i return to canada after 5 years of being abroad and live in Canada for 3 years and leave again.

Do i have to pay deeemed disposition again.

Does CRA return my security deposit when i sell all my investments this year and file my taxes next year, I want to look for a market correction and sell them in Canada and my new ones in the USA.

Can i leave US dollar denominated ETF in the brokerage or do they need to be closed.

I don't agree with this idea of the departure tax when i did not sell any of my investment.

Hello all,

I will be moving to Texas next month and have a self directed investment account and TFSA with TD waterhouse. I phoned the agent and they stated that i may have to liquidate the account.

Is there some other broker that would allow me to keep my investment account open.
