I am working on TN and will change employer soon. I just learned that I need to notify USCIS within 10 days of move. Is there anything else I need to do aside from changing address? I don't want to miss something that may put myself in trouble.
Thanks.

Working on TN, married but in 2 separate states, how to file
I have been working under TN since Jan 2006 and have been in State A. My wife is on F1 and has stayed in State B. I understand that we both need to file federal tax; in addition, I file State A tax while my wife needs to file State B tax. But when I filed my tax using TurboTax, it obviously also ask...

Any difference between applying at POE and applying via mail
Just heard from the new employer that they are willing to sponsor my 2nd TN. They will most likely do it via mail-in. My question is: is any difference between applying for 2nd TN at POE and mail-in application (with the premium processing) in terms of the possibility of approval? I might be just pa...

TN - Change of Employer
I am currently working in US on TN Visa, which has been renewed for the first time valid through Jan 2008. I will most likely change my job to work with another employer this spring. I understand that I can have two TN visa at the same time, as I plan to get my 2nd TN visa approved before I quit my ...

Thank you, nelsona, for your reply. I hope you don't mind that I have a couple of questions about H1B. 1) My current employer has agreed to sponsor me to switch to H1B from TN. As H1B won't be valid until oct 1, so I will still work under TN between apr and oct 1. I am working as a business analyst ...

How to apply for TN with a certificate
I am currently working on TN Visa. I obtained my TN to work as a business analyst (under the economist category as I have a ma in economics). Now I am considering changing job to work as a SAS Programmer, which should be in the computer system analyst category. The problem is that I don't have a deg...

Thank you so much, nelsona, for the quick response. I will take your advice and amend my return. Can you please tell me how to file the amendment return or let me know where I can find relevant information? Canadian moved to US to study, non-resident??
I am a Canadian and moved to US on August 16, 2005 to study full-time in US. My husband stayed in Canada until Dec. 20, 2006 before moving to US. Recently CCRA sent me a letter notifying that they considered me as non-resident of Canada as of August 16, 2005 because I "haven't maintained signif...

Teaching Assistantship Income = Employment Income?
Hi Nelson. First thank you for answering my questions on how to file CAN return as a student in US. I have one more question. As my husband stayed in CAN until Dec. 25, 2005 though I moved out on August 16, 2005, I understand that I have to report my US income between August 16 and Dec. 25, 2005 as ...

Thanks Nelson for the clarification. Does this mean that I need to file CAN tax return even for 2006 and future years until I stop being a student despite the fact that I have physically moved to US? If this is the case, then I guess I can claim my moving expenses against my US TA income in 2005 tax...

Canadian study in US, do I need to report US income?
I am a Canadian citizen attending school in US. I moved to US in August 2005, so I put my date of departure as 08/16/2005. From that date on I was a non-resident of Canada for tax purpose. Then do I need to report the TA income I received from the US university when I file Canadian tax as an emigrat...
