Hi, I am a Canadian citizen and have lived and worked in USA on TN Visa since 2005. I am retiring next month and planning live on my Social Security benefit amount. I will be moving to Philippines for my retirement. Do I need to file my taxes in Canada for the Social security benefit amount? Thanks

Hi Nelsona, Thanks for your prompt response. Yes, I understand that it does not make me a canadian resident for tax purpose. However since she is living and working in Canada, that triggers "significant ties" to Canada, and because of that I may have to file taxes in USA as well as Canada ...
