Oops. I'm a retired, single, dual citizen living in Canada receiving US soc. sec, cpp, and oas.

This form has changed this year and question 5 requires a response. After reading the related section 301.6114-1(b) and going cross-eyed I remain confused. I think I should check "no." Is this correct?

I've used the deluxe version for many years and I'm satisfied. I'm assuming you have no cdn income to report.

If you do then you will need to "play" with TTax a bit... i.e. 'pretend' T5's are 1099's.

can one simply write on 8833 that CPP income is exempt due to US CDN tax treaty OR does one have to name the specific article, paragraph etc.
