Voting / Tax Status Impact?

Post by michaelthef »

Hello - wondering if registering to be added to the international election register in Canada could be construed as a step towards maintaining/recreating ties with Canada for tax purposes? I would like to vote in the likely upcoming federal election, but would only do so if there is no risk whatsoever of having this result in the CRA questioning whether I have ties to Canada for tax purposes ( I departed early 2013). Thank you!
