hi,

i am Canadian who 100% remotely work for US company as contractor. do i need to apply tn visa?

US Company ask me to apply tn visa. i think it is not necessary.

You are correct. TN is only for work in US. if you need to enter for business purposes, you can usually do so under B1. But if you ever need a TN, you can get it when that need arises.

They can get the paperwork ready for you if they wish. You would only process it if/when crossing for work, again, if B1 was not enough.

Sounds like some lawyer (99% of lawyers don't know how TN works because it is designed to leave them out) is trying to line his pockets with needless fees.
