Online Sales For Dual Citizens

Post by wab »

I am a retired dual Canadian/American citizen. This year I have been selling some items on-line via Ebay. I know I must report any profit to Canada as I have been living here full time for the last 20 years, but what do I do with regards to the USA? I cannot figure out which forms to file or how to avoid being doubled taxed if I owe. Thanks.

My sales are well under $10,000 gross. I know I must report any profit to Canada as I have been living here full time for the last 20 years with no US address, but what do I do with regards to the USA at tax time?

I cannot figure out which forms to file for the USA or how to avoid being doubled taxed if I owe. I do not plan to continue doing this in a business sense. Just want to downsize as I plan to move in a couple of years. Thanks.[/quote]

Please can you be of any assistance?

Thank you for your kinf help but would this require me to fill out a Schedule C E-Z or would I just add this net income to the 1040 under other income. Also on Form 1116 what should this be classified as? My only other source of income is interest income from GIC's.

Thank you again.
