Is there a CRA tax credit for taxes paid to California?

Is there a CRA tax credit for taxes paid to California?

If you pay state taxes to California (not federal taxes), are the taxes paid eligible for a foreign Canadian tax credit?

I have read that there is no tax treaty between Canada CRA and California but does that matter?

trm, if you go on the CRA website, look up Income Tax Folio S5-F2-C1 which provides all details of the CRA foreign tax credit. I believe that paragraph 1.6 of this folio will give a favourable answer to your question.
