Transfer RRSP Form 8891 Question

Post by Ingtar17 »

Hi - Searched for an answer but didn't find one. I transferred my RRSP money from a RRSP savings account to a RRSP mutual fund (at different branches of the same bank). Do I need to fill out a 8891 form for both accts (with one showing $0) or just the one active at year end? Also is the withdrawl from the closed one a distribution for line 7a of form 8891 or nothing since it's just a trasfer between RRSP accts?

Cheers,
Ingtar

You need 2 8891's for the transfer year.

It is not a distribution.
nelsona non grata. Non pro. Please Search previous posts, no situation is unique as you might think. Happy Browsing :D
