I just picked up my wife's (US citizen living in Canada as a PR) completed IRS return from the CPA today.
I am happy with the way everything looks but there was one form that was included that I haven't seen in the past from other CPA's, it is form 8821 Tax information Authorization.
Under line 3 (Tax matters), 1040 is listed as well as the years 2011 - 2013.
Under line 5 (disclosure of tax information), box b is checked, which states: "if you do not want any copies of notices or communications sent to your appointee, check this box"
Does this form simply allow the CPA to discuss with the IRS any matters relating to this return on my wife's behalf?
Thanks!
form 8821
