In the instruction for the form 8938, it is stated:
"Duplicative reporting. You do not have to report a specified foreign financial asset on Form 8938 if you report it on one or more of the following forms that you timely file with the IRS for the same tax year. Instead, you must identify on Form 8938 the form(s) on which you report the specified foreign financial asset and how many of these forms you file". the forms listed are: 3520, 5471, 8621, 8865 and 8891.
However in the form 8938, only 3520/3520-A, 5471, 8621 and 8865 are listed at the end of the form. what can I do with a filed 8891, shall I still report it in the 8938, or simply add 8891 at the end of 8938?
Thank you!
8891 is not listed in 8938

See page 9 of the instructions to Form 8938 ("If you filed Form 8891 to report an interest in a Canadian retirement plan, check the box for Form 3520 and enter how many Forms 8891 (and Forms 3520) you filed."). Seems ridiculous that they didn't just add another check box for Form 8891. Of course, there is no need to file Form 3520 for the RRSP if you file the 8891.

Testone, thank you very much for your help. Yes, I have just found the statement on the page 9.
