NR4 on Canadian return?

Post by aliflower »

In 2011, I lived and worked in Canada until the end of February. I moved to the USA March 4th and received a lump sum payout from my pension from my previous employer in mid-march. I have received a NR4 with income code 40 on it, showing that they withheld Non-resident tax. Do I need to include that on my canadian return somewhere? If so, what lines do I use?

Thank you in advance!

If it was reported on teh NR4 it was paid to you while you were inb the US the CND govt took its share of with tax up front, you have no requirement to file in CND on this amount but you mau under sec 217 if you choose to.
