Wait--CPP and EI premiums count as wages? I would think they are more like taxes paid?

CPP and EI are taxes and should be included in taxes paid related to earned income.
Total taxes = federal taxes + provincial taxes (if paid separately) + EI + CPP.
That's what nelsona is saying.

To clarify, for the tax credit against wages, you include CPP and EI premiums paid. For the tax credit on other income, you do not.
